Hon. Etoke, Mayor Ekema bag honorary awards

Member of Parliament for Fako East, in charge of Tiko/Muyuka, and the Mayor of Buea, Ekema Patrick Esunge, have both bagged Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Public Administration from the Charismatic Theological College in Limbe affiliated to Azuza Pacific University, USA.

The award took place at the 6th ecumenical convocation and educational award ceremony on Sunday, November, 23, 2014 at the Women Empowerment Center, Mile I Limbe under the auspices of the Arch Bishop who doubles as Chancellor of the St Thomas a Becket University, Professor, Noah Biayetambi.

Out of the 11 present, 4 where recipients of honorary awards and 7 graduating students in which 4 where ordained as Apostles and a Bishop elect.

Opening the ceremony, Arch Bishop Noah, proclaimed that today is the day to send out those who have been trained to go out and do their work. He urged them to be portrayers of where they came from, so that others will desire to be part of them. He said they should be able to give directions to all class of people be it politicians, civil servants just to name but a few.

Following the essence of the ceremony, Professor Lambi Cornelius, Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea and presently the Vice Chancellor of Sun Moon University, South Korea, gave an academic discourse on the challenges of the 21st century. He said “While we acknowledge that life in its self is a challenge, the 21st century remains a milestone in human civilization”.

He noted that man is the greatest modifier of its environment and nothing comes without equivalent challenges.

On his part the Chancellor of Charismatic Theological College, NC Lawrence Luba Njoh, congratulated the graduating batch, while encouraging them to be strong in the Lord and to always do the right things. He said “if we fail to do what we ought to do, then, we have failed”. He equally said, “Hard work pays and I can assure you that with the profile of these men they are worthy to be called Doctors.”

The two state officials were awarded Doctorate degrees alongside Rev. Memnih Ndola Francis and Rev. Oben Ernest Mbikang, and given the go ahead to add Doctors to their name.

In an interview granted to the press, the MP, Hon Fritz Etoke expressed joy for haven been conferred a doctorate degree. He said he was happy that people out there recognize the effort he is putting into the community and hope that they will celebrate with the widows and orphans in Fako very soon.

On his part the Lord Mayor of Buea council, Ekema Patrick, expressed satisfaction and said “I have been acting long before now as a Doctorate but today God has ordained me to have a document to back up my actions”.

It is worth mentioning an award of excellence in Education Management was handed to Professor Lambi to grace the ceremony.
