General Kodji calls for vigilance in Maroua

The Maroua-Salak International Airport as well as the command post of Joint Military District No. 4 (RMIA4), was in anticipation of the arrival of Brigadier General Jacob Kodji on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

The new General returned from Yaoundé after being promoted. Off from the plane, he was greeted by senior officers and civil authorities who were there to welcome him. Dance groups from Mayo-Tsanaga Department, hometown of the new brigadier, welcomed him with a spectacular performance.

The man of the day thanked them for their mobilization before heading towards the Command Post (CP) where another stage was set.

The arrival of the Governor of the Far North Region marked the beginning of the ceremonies. First was an ecumenical prayer followed by the welcome address delivered by a senior army officer. In his response, the General invited his fellow colleagues to "be progressively united and serve with honour and fidelity" to overcome this nebula Boko Haram.

He also invited the people to cooperate by providing real-time information that can help to put the terrorism away. This subject was corroborated by Governor Midjiyawa Bakari, while urging one another to "be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior."
