Fru Asanji Samuel wins Chinese language contest

The 14th world edition and 12th national edition of the Chinese Bridge Proficiency Competition has ended with Samuel Fru Asanji emerging as winner.

Chinese Bridge Competition: Samuel Fru Asanji to represent Cameroon The event was organised by the Confucius Institute on the campus of the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC).

Eleven finalists from different parts of Cameroon took part in the national competition to select a Cameroonian representative for the world competition in July this year. The contest is aimed at promoting the Chinese language and culture.

To the Director of IRIC, Pierre Emmanuel Tabi the competition serves as a bridge to strengthen relations between Cameroon and China.

The new Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E. Wei Wenhua on his part, lauded the students for their enthusiasm throughout their study of the Chinese language and culture.

The winner, Samuel Asanji will represent Cameroon at the world competition scheduled for July 2015 in China. The runners-up, Joseph Olivier Mendo’o will take part in a summer camp in China where he will be offered intensive Chinese language courses and excursions to touristic sites in China.
