Four injured in Mile 10 accident

Four people have been rushed to the hospitals in Bamenda and Akum following an accident at Mile 10 on the Bamenda – Santa road on Monday March 2, 2015.

The accident occurred when a Toyota DX 80, transformed locally into a mini pickup overturned under the weight of a cow it was transporting to the slaughter house in Santa.

The butcher and the Fulani herdsman who were seated behind with the cow got seriously injured with blood oozing from their heads while the driver and his assistant sustained minor injuries.

The herdsman a boy in his teen was unconscious by the time he reached the hospital. The cow however escaped the accident unharmed and was later conveyed to the slaughter house.

The victims were rushed to the Bamenda Regional Hospital and the Akum Holy Trinity Hospital for medical attention in two vehicles.

Passersby from inter-urban buses and other vehicles in an extreme show of solidarity contributed money to help sent the victims to the hospital.
