The 20th anniversary of Cameroon's Movement of Mothers was an opportunity to educate them on the terrorist threat.

To believe Marcelline Zogo, substitute Senator of CPDM (Cameroon People's Democratic Movement) for the Littoral Region, the situation is serious. No one knows when and where the enemy will strike. The enemy is within our walls, in our kitchens.

Speaking of the enemy, the member refers to Boko Haram. The three suicide bombings by the terrorist group in Maroua (22 and 25 July) and Fotokol (July 13) are fresh in our memories, especially for women and mothers with children. No one has forgotten that "it is the girls who are used to sow terror. So it is still women who are affected," suggests the MP.

Before proceeding, "Ladies, it's time to change and increase vigilance. The girl used as a weapon of war is our daughter. The man who dies is our husband, our brother." Marcelline Zogo was speaking last Wednesday, July 29 at the House of Bonanjo party on the occasion of the festival marking the 20th anniversary of the Cameroon Movement mothers (Mcm).

In the event that brought together a hundred Cameroonian and refugee women, the house party was under police surveillance with police officers in civilian clothes and in uniform wandering in the course. They had weapons in hand; their presence has something reassuring, but also recalls the reality of the threat to the lives of Cameroonians.

"We're safe because we have the authorities who thought that we should keep that safe seat," Angela Marie reassures Mbogbe Mbogbe, departmental delegate of the Ministry of Promotion of Women and the Family (Minproff).

The two Commissioners present in the afternoon took the opportunity to educate women about safe action and respect in this period. The mothers are then asked to report any suspicious person in their entourage. And above all, always to have their national identity card as soon as they leave home, suggests the commander of the Western Operational Centre visiting the city.

The Mcm is a movement that celebrates women. Its purpose being the supervision and guidance of the women's movement.
