Elak Council: 2016 budget eyes roads

The Elak Council budget for 2016 which stands at FCFA 522, 028, 0127 will be used for the construction of culverts and bridges on existing roads, creation and the opening of more council roads, says Mayor Jerome Ngum Njioh.

According to the Mayor, FCFA 312, 9915,000 is for recurrent budget including operating cost and others, while FCFA 209,113,127 will be used for investments.

Some of the funds will go into capacity building seminars for councillors and staff, the extension of electricity, especially the Mbockemlung project and the construction of a chapel at the mortuary, among others.

The Mayor said the funds for the budget will come mainly from the government through FEICOM and local sources.

He called on all the stakeholders concerned with the collection of revenue to work harder than before to step up collection.
