Dschang: Two Baccalureat candidates suspended for three years

Baccalaureat Students Baccalaureat Students

Michael Nanfack Tsafouet and Nana, both students of College Prive Laic Bilingue Intellexi and Lycee Classique de Dschang, will have to write the Baccalaureat D series in 2018 because they were caught cheating by the invigilators of the Lycee Bilingue de Dschang.

As reported last Wednesday, Nanfack Tsafouet managed to complete the physics test in twenty minutes before the closing time. On his way out, he wanted to help his friend who kept biting the tip of his pen. So he agreed to slide his test sheets for the friend's only for his actions which is prohibited was exposed by the supervisor of the room who was following them closely.

By comparing the various sheets and the composition of answer leaves of two suspects, she discovered both student were cheating and immediately appealed to the exam manager who in turn alerted the police.

The exam manager immediately reported the incident to Yaoundé via the internet. In his report, he attached photographs and compositions of the two candidates by way of evidence.

While this case still runs under the examination center, the office of Baccalaureat of Cameroon (0bC) quickly took a decision on their fates. After ten minutes, they suspended the two applicants from writing any examination organized by the CBO for a period of three years.

The announcement of the bad news was nearly fatal for Michael Nanfack Tsafouet who was known as a "very bright student," the most brilliant of his establishment; he suddenly fainted and ended up in a coma. He was rushed to the Dschang health district hospital where he recovered and was discharged on Saturday 6 June.

If this sentence was heavy for Nanfack Tsafouet Michael and his friend Nana, it wouldn't be less for another candidate in the same center. After arriving 25 minutes after the start of the same physics test, she was sent off from the examination room.

According to the law of the exam which states that no candidate who arrived 15 minutes after the start should be allowed to write. For the delay, the candidate prior to the arrival time, said she went back home for her national identity card which she had forgotten.

In an unconvincing argument and consolation nonetheless, it may be in contrast to her two companions of misfortune to return next year.
