The Assistant Secretary General of the Southwest Elite Association, SWELA, in charge of Meme, Prince Daniel Nasako Molondo, has refused to give up his position after his sacking.

The SWELA Assistant Secretary General was sacked apparently for sending a motion of support to President Biya.

Prince Nasako Molondo made the declaration to reporters in Kumba recently while reacting to his dismissal by SWELA Scribe, Joseph Moki Etukeni.

A senior staff at the Southwest Governor's office, Prince Nasako said to the best of his knowledge, he remains the SWELA scribe in charge of Meme.

According to Nasako, he was duly elected in a General Assembly attended by elites from the entire Region and his native Meme Division, and so, nobody can just get up one morning and decide to remove him from office.

Nasako claimed that in case of such, it is only the General Assembly that is fit to take such action. He insinuated that his sacking might have been sponsored by people who want his demise.

Meanwhile, Moki argued that SWELA is an apolitical group and so could not have sent a motion of support to President Biya.

Nasako said he sent a motion of support to the Head of State, Paul Biya, and not to the Chairman of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, who is still Paul Biya.

He said the motion of support was not a one-man affair, but joint concerns of many stakeholders who were supporting State actions and not a particular political party.

On this ground, Nasako faulted Moki by holding on to the fact that his actions were contrary to the constitution of SWELA.

Besides discussing his dismissal, Nasako expressed fearsat the way the secretariat of the association and its affairs are being managed. He said there is no association where only one person is in charge of following up all financial issues, whereas there is a treasurer.
He, however, avoided talking further.

Quizzed on a Divisional Coordination Committee put in place after the controversial Kumba meeting, Nasako singled out errors in its formation.
He said going by the constitution of SWELA, the President and the Secretary of the association must not come from the same Subdivision.
