Desperate mother abandons child in the farm

A 28 year old woman abandoned her new born baby boy in a bush in the East region town of Bertoua.

She explained that the father of the baby has abandoned her for another woman.

The baby who stayed the whole night in the bush was later discovered by a woman who was attracted by the screaming of the child.

After investigations, the gendarmerie examined all expectant mothers in the area and finally got the suspect thanks to help from her neighbours.

The victim immediately confessed to the offense stating that due to financial problems she could not keep the child, moreso as the father of her baby called Douda ,had dumped her for another woman.

Douda is presently at the Bertoua Gendarmerie and the mother of the child has been forcefully given the child that she keeps under close watch by security forces.
