Col. Yoghaminyi , Pioneer NW Ex-Servicemen Delegate

Col. Yoghaminyi Muandze Christopher is the pioneer Regional Delegate of Ex-servicemen and War Victims in the North West Region. He was commissioned in Bamenda on November 12, 2013 by the Secretary of State in charge of Ex Servicemen and War Victims, Koumpa Issa who challenged the Delegate to give Ex-servicemen and War Victims a fresh push of life.

In effect, Col. Yoghaminyi is expected to build the new delegation from scratch. It was against this backdrop that the Secretary of State, Koumpa Issa encouraged him to be courageous, resourceful and display a sense of imagination, creativity and know-how in an attempt to make retirees, widows and orphans happy again.

He was inspired to ensure a smooth transition from the period of active duty and that of retirement, as well as hassle-free reintegration of soldiers into socio-professional life and society simple. The Secretary of State urged the pioneer Delegate to change perceptions about retirees in a bid to make the Armed Forces appealing to youths.

Koumpa Issa traced the creation of the Secretariat of State in charge of Ex-servicemen and War Victims back to President Biya's announcement during his visit to Bamenda in 2010. It came to pass and the Secretary of State urged Ex- servicemen and War Victims to stand by the President who matches words with action. He saluted them as people who have served the nation and deserve dignity while on retirement.

He told the pioneer Delegate that he has no troops to command, but men and women to serve, on behalf of the nation's solidarity and gratitude to those who have served her with honour and fidelity, and who are now expected to enjoy well-deserved rest.

The pioneer delegate has a mission to coordinate their activities and initiate programs of hope so that they can continue to be part of nation-building. On hand to salute the event were North West Governor, Adolph Lele Lafrique and the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Ndumu Nji Vincent who hailed the government for giving meaning to Ex- servicemen and War Victims.

He appealed to them to join the war against crime in metropolitan Bamenda. From Baba I, Ngoketungia Division, Col. Yoghaminyi is a product of the National Military Academy, EMIA. The 52-year-old, Colonel was an Adviser at the Yaounde Airforce Military Headquarters before being promoted to serve Ex-servicemen and War Victims in the North West.
