Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E Weinhua Wei, has donated some items and money to students at the Far North to assist with their studies.

A cheque of FCFA three million, computers, television screens, radio-receiver sets, footballs, volleyballs and many other items were handed over to the President of the National Assembly (PAN) on Tuesday by Ambassador Wei Wenhua.

During a short ceremony, H.E Weinhua Wei said that these were gifts from the diplomatic mission he heads in order to contribute to the education of children at the Far North region.

"During a meeting with the President of the National Assembly, he told me about the children of the Far North region who faced some difficulties with their education. That is why my colleagues and I thought we should do something for them," said the Chinese diplomat.

In response to this gesture, the President of the National Assembly, the Right Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, showed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries.

"On behalf of all these children that you have helped, I sincerely thank you," he said to his host who was accompanied by some of his colleagues from the embassy. He promised that these donations will surely get to their destinations and on time.

This donation is the second offer made by Ambassador Wei Wenhua through National Assembly for children of the Far North region since his arrival in Cameroon.
