Cameroonian universities relocating

Yaounde II University Yaounde II University

The origin of the expansion of university faculties are backed by the 1993 university reform which considers an increase in student numbers over the years.

For the 2015/ 2016 academic year, other universities followed suit as the ENS Yaoundé which has already developed a campus at Bambili in the Northwest.

This is also the case of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University of Yaoundé II Soa which is opening an annex in the town of Bertoua, East Region and the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University of Ngaoundere which has been offered a new site in Garoua in the North.

This dynamism aims at easing the burden of parents and students of modest and distant university cities. However, public opinion fears an unequal teaching opportunity that might interfere with access to quality knowledge.

The authorities are already considering allaying any concerns about the content of courses and diplomas to be issued.
