Bilingual BEPC: Oral session starts

Exam Candidates Exam Candidates

The written tests continue from Tuesday to Friday.

In lycée bilingue d’application (LBA) Yaoundé, two classes are for bilingual candidates of BEPC (French / English) and in the first class, candidates go one after the other before a jury.

In the other, the rest of the students are waiting for their turn under heavy surveillance. There is also concentration for the exam of the day: Oral Communication.

The exercise is to select a random theme and make a presentation to the examiners. Anglophones explain in French, Francophones in English. The test takes 20 minutes for each candidate. It's about enjoying the fluidity of the phrase, understanding of the subject, the insurance before the jury, etc.

At LBA, Stella Mary Ekolle, an examiner says that everything passed without an incident so far. Upon the visit of the CT team, an incident was recorded of a candidate who could not say anything. Absolutely nothing much to the surprise of the interrogators who knew they were dealing with a poorly prepared candidate or simply a situation of extreme stress.

Ncha Stephen Chi, head of the center reassures that everything was done for students in good conditions. A meeting was held last Friday with all examiners to remind them to use principles and remain strict without intimidating candidates. The review began at 8am as planned. No cases of delays were noted in LBA.

In Ngoa-Ekellé bilingual high school, another center of bilingual BEPC, it was almost the same scenario. At the time of our visit, the head of the center, the project manager and the executive head were in a restricted meeting.

It should be recalled that the bilingual candidates of BEPC written examinations began this morning at the same time that those of BEPC classic started in the whole territory.
