Bana- Indian hemp farm destroyed

A crop field of Indian hemp, almost 500 square meters and with more than 55 product plants, was burnt by the security forces in the Bapouh village (in the Tappe forest).

The exercise took place in the presence of the public prosecutor of the courts of Upper Nkam and the Bana brigade commander, Chief Major Simon Nkondog on Thursday August 13, 2015.

The Divisional Officer (DO) of Upper Nkam, Essoi Gabriel Eloi, has had a real tough time with Indian hemp cultivation.

The field belongs to one Félix Carlos Hakoua who was assisted by his friend, Guy Martial Dakmebeu. These two friends were fugitives of the law since 2008 they were arrested for Eneo cable theft.

Felix Hakoua was again still arrested in 2012 for possession, use and sale of cannabis. Subsequently, he was overshadowed in Douala, before returning to Bana in late 2014.

However, in February 2015, he resumed his activity; this time deceiving the people that he is cultivating pepper. Unfortunately for him through intelligence, his field was discovered. The police also seized over 60 kg of Indian hemp that was ready for market. The two were arrested; meanwhile investigation continues.
