Bafoussam urban C2D projects unveiled

The Bafoussam urban Contract Deleveraging Development (C2D) project has been disclosed by the National Coordinator, Paul Dongue to give inhabitants of Bafoussam and surrounding areas a fair idea of how the city will be developed.

The project which was unveiled on Thursday will enable Bafoussam, Garoua and Bertoua have a new face and the cutting of the sod to begin works has been scheduled for 2017.

The Bafoussam urban C2D has several components. The first being roads and drainage. It includes a well planned reconstruction of major roads like the one along the market (Carrefour Total -SGBC Carrefour - Carrefour Aurbege); ring road project of the shopping center like that of Carrefour Mayor-Cami Toyota and the proper demarcation of houses and buildings similar to the industrial area around the Gabon High School. The total budget for this first component amounts to FCFA 26.5 billion.

The second component relates to commercial facilities (IGPs) which include the partial reconstruction of the ruined B market, modernization of the Casablanca market, the rehabilitation of the station in Ndiangdam. The budgeted amount was more than FCFA 8.1 billion.

The third module dwells on basic urban services including the construction of water stalls, the installation of solar candelabra for public lighting and the development of Banefo public discharge. The cost was FCFA 1.9 billion.
