Ambassador meets youth leaders in Douala

Recently, Ambassador Michael S. Hoza met with a group of twenty two leaders of youth organizations based in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon.

Echoing President Obama’s address during his Washington town hall meeting with young African leaders in August this year, the Ambassador told participants that the United States believes they will build the future of Africa through their talents and ideas.

“The United States is committed to the empowerment of young Africans so that they are prepared to meet their future responsibilities in building the future of this continent," he told them.

He encouraged the young leaders to be responsible and committed citizens by getting involved in their respective communities.

The meeting also provided Ambassador Hoza an occasion to listen to the youth, hear their concerns and challenges, and share their dreams and aspirations for a prosperous Cameroon.

While encouraging the youth leaders to take action in order to realize their dreams, Ambassador Hoza presented programs and resources available at the Embassy to them to support their academic endeavors.
