A BEPC graduate drowns in a swimming pool in Douala

Mbappé Mbappé Thierry, a third grade student at Bafia high school in the department of Mbam et Inoubou, Central Region, did not know his visit to Bonamapè in Douala to celebrate after his examination on July 6 will be his last moments with his loved ones.

Police sources say in the afternoon, the young student arrived at the place with his siblings and parents. The family wanted to celebrate in a special way the success of the victim in the BEPC exam. On their agenda was a special meal and a pool party, of which the latter unfortunately ended with a tragedy.

The correspondent of the national radio, CRTV, who relayed the information on Wednesday said the victim got help from the lifeguard who was surprised by the sudden occurrence of the incident. Having swallowed a lot of water due to lack of experience, he passed away.
