800 homes censored at Bamougoum in the fight against terrorism

Bafoussam III Bafoussam III

Since August 7, the sub-prefect of the District of Bafoussam III, Atangana née Tchuenté Tsemo instructed the Census of all homes and people living in his administrative unit.

The aim was "to know who is who in the districts, who does what and who is new," says the head of Kamkop I district, David Kengne. It is all about determining the presence of foreigners and tourists in this area with a high human concentration. In addition, the operation will have a precise idea on homeowners and tenants.

Today, 792 homes have already been identified, including an unmanned 63. The houses still under construction are not affected. At Kouogouo-South, the initiative is well received by the people. The head of the area explains that due to growing insecurity that prevails at the national level, emphasis will be placed on the uninhabited homes that could accommodate potential criminals with the sole purpose of creating instability among the population.

This is especially done since Bafoussam is considered to be a den of brigands who, after having operated in major cities, come to take refuge in the region of the Sun, giving weak and innocent people hard times.

The success of the operation was through collaboration between administrative authorities, security forces and populations, as well as by the attitude of the intelligence community, as prescribed the sub-prefect of Bafoussam III.

At the end of the exercise, residence cards will be issued to people to enable them move safely in Bafoussam III. The exercise follows a security meeting organized by the prefect of the Mifi, Joseph Tangwa Fover last month to call for vigilance in order to block attacks by bandits.
