8 shops razed by fire at Yabassi Camp

The fire which started on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday burnt down eight shops that deal in the sale of spare parts (cars, bikes) and hardware, as well as an Internet café and a snack bar. This happened at Yabassi Camp not far from the small crossroads which leads to the Nkoulouloun market.

The fire is said to have started from a family house where victims (shop owners) are tenants of the house. Pélagie D, tenant says stricken family, were left with debris of furniture, crunching and dangling electrical wires. It was revealed that the fire broke out in the room of a child in the House. "He was out of his bedroom and upon his return, he found fire', she told CT.

"The front of the house was ablaze, so we had to break the House from behind to get out', confided Pelagie, visibly still within the scope of emotion. Behind her, three cars, a Toyota Corolla brand taxi, a Mercedes 190 and a 4 x 4 Toyota parked in the concession were affected.
