500 school children receive stationery

It was a rare moment and privilege to most children of the Douala I Subdivision who shared in the joy of having received gifts of stationery for the 2015-2016 school year on Saturday, September 5.

The gifts, which were offered by Jean Roi Titti Essome Bernard, President of Akwa “C” Sub-section of the Youth Wing of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, YCPDM, who doubles as Municipal Councillor of the Douala I Council.

Some 500 nursery and primary school children benefitted from the largesse, seen by many as necessary to assist many families who are among the underprivileged of society to sending their children back to school.

The annual donation by Jean Roi Titti Essome Bernard in his capacity as youth President falls within the framework of the fight against poverty and the programme to strengthen and improve education was in its fifth edition on Saturday.

While handing over the gifts to the nursery and primary school children, Jean Roi Titti Essome expressed his commitment to spur education among the less privileged of his community, especially as President of the youth wing of the governing party.

The young people were selected from each of the eleven Sub-sections of Douala I Subdivision and from associations of disabled persons.
