5 die after transport bus and Toyota Carina crash at Banekane

Deaths have once again been recorded on the Yaounde - Bafoussam highway this weekend.

A transport bus belonging to a travel agency, from Yaoundé, collided with a grey Toyota Carina, registered 175 LT BX, at Banekane, a locality in the Nde department on Friday.

After the incident, the Carina-E brand which had six people on board was reduced to a pile of scrap metal. Out of the six occupants in the car, only a young 17 year old lady survived.

According to West CRTV reporter who was at the scene, the victim was taken to the l’Hôpital de l’Université des Montagnes and from the clinical results, she was out of danger.

Less than a month ago, another similar accident occurred in the Banekane village, specifically on the bridge of the said locality, where the collision between another vehicle of the same type and a Caterpillar recorded one death.
