Adamou Ndam Njoya Calls for Election Perfection

The National Chairman of the Cameroon Democratic Union faced the press on Friday, November 8, 2013.

The National President of the Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU), Adamou Ndam Njoya has said that there is the need to review the unaccomplished biometric process so as to halt manipulations that distance it from its prime objective of free and fair elections. He was speaking in Yaounde on November 8, 2013 during a press conference on the September 30 twin elections.

Adamou Ndam Njoya holds that the biometrics was good, but its partial implementation, according to what they witnessed on the field, open doors for fakeness in election voting which greatly affected results. "Biometrics should be complete. The voter should have his/her voters' card immediately after registering on the electoral lists.

During vote cast, voters should be identified electronically," CDU's Adamou Ndam Njoya stressed. He said their gathering was to see how to continue to reflect on how to better the country's electoral process.

Other issues raised was for the putting in place of the single ballot in upcoming elections for according to CDU, transparency and objectivity in the organisation and conduct of polls will only depend on the implementation of this.
