The veteran of the union of the peoples of Cameroon (UPC), died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, in Douala, the economic capital where he lived.

The UPC activist was knocked down on the road by a motorcycle taxi. A contracted head injury resulted in his death, said a statement signed by the Secretariat of the Steering Committee of the UPC.

Nganya Joseph Flaubert, one of the first activists who engaged in the struggle for the liberation of Cameroon joined the ranks of the UPC in the late 1950s when he was not yet twenty.

He lost an arm in combat and following setbacks, he was arrested and endured a long prison sentence. Despite the hardships, he naturally took his place in the party after his release from prison, we learn from the UPC.
