SDF maintains superiority in Tiko

The massive turnout of the SDF in Tiko last May 20 was just to confirm the superiority of the party in that part of Fako Division.

The militants came out in their numbers, young, old, women from all walks of life to celebrate National Unity.

In the presence of other political parties in the likes of the CPDM party and the UNDP in Tiko sub-division which are no small political players, the SDF championed the day with a huge crowd marching past the grand stand supported by the Mayor of the SDF run Tiko Council, Moukoundo Daniel who proudly pose a sign of “power to the people” till his militants march past the tribune.

The other political parties had no match as it was even observed that some political parties had to bring in students from schools around to match for them just to bring up their numbers.

The event was presided over at by the Divisional officer for Tiko sub-division, Che Patrick Ngwashi.

At the start of the celebration 22 hard working citizens were recognised by receiving Knights of the National Order of Valour and decorated by the Divisional Officer.

The Divisional Officer for Tiko appreciated the efforts of the people of the sub-division for the success of the national day celebration.

He equally added that this year’s celebration was based on security as to the unrest of Boko Haram faced especially by the people in the Extreme North.

The D.O called on the entire population to support and help the administration to give information on any issue concerning Boko Haram so that it will be completely wiped out.

On his part the Lord Mayor to the Tiko council, Mokoundo Daniel, named the successfully turn out as a mark of confidence built on the Tiko population. He said, “The armed forces can’t do it on their own to fight Book Haram rather it involved everyone through information”.

The mayor thanked the support of the Tiko population and God for providing an American market for the people.

He added that in months to come the economic situation in Tiko will be vibrant as the borders are open. He called for team spirit and hard work amongst the Tiko people.

Following special clean up campaigns to commemorate the day, prizes were awarded to the cleanest villages.

Mundoni came first, receiving a cash prize of FCFA 150,000, Ebonji came second with a cash prize of FCFA 100,000 and Miselele came third with a cash prize of FCFA 75,000.
