Political opponent, Abba Abubakar, joins CPDM

Former political opponent of the Yaoundé regime, Mr. Abba Aboubakar, founding president of the RCPU (Cameroon Revolution United People) claims to have joined the CPDM (Cameroon People Democratic Movement), the ruling party, in an exclusive interview he granted Cameroon-Info.Net

The former coordinator of Social Convergence Development (CSD) said, "I did not join CDPM to stripe anyone of their post. I am not a candidate for any position. I rather have the aim to support the vision of development of our country, spearheaded by President Biya. With the occurrence of renewal of operations of the party’s basic organs, I will involve myself if I am commissioned by the governing body.”

After he was kidnapped and detained by the special services many times, the dramatic turnaround of the man ,who in October 2012 openly asked Paul Biya to leave, has left observers stunned .
