Marcellin Ndjaga boycotting meetings

The decree of Paul Biya of October 23, 2015, appointing governors of the four regions of the country did not make everyone happy. Those promoted popped champagne to celebrate the "high trust placed in them by the Head of State", those who were dismissed instead pouted.

Among the unfortunate is Jules Marcelin Ndjaga. The appointments of the President of the Republic fell to his ears while as Governor of the Southern Region he chaired a regional meeting on incivility in the Kribi Ocean, La Nouvelle Expression reported on 28 October 2015.

In a satirical style to perfection, the newspaper writes: "The news of his forced retirement has certainly traumatized him to the point that he forgot his kingly duty of personal representative of the President of the Republic in this part of the country. So he prematurely left the meeting room on the grounds that he is no longer Governor and that his place is no longer needed on the platform."

Since then, the civil administrator has systematically boycotted all official events. "For example, CERAC (Circle of Friends of Cameroon) who held a ceremony the next day at Kribi, the CPCC's closing ceremony and free distribution of ITNs by the Minister of Public Health in Ebolowa" says the paper.

Marcelin Ndjaga has been represented by the Secretary General for his services. It is also the SG who now attends all events instead of the governor. Yet Felix Nguélé Nguélé, the new South boss, has not yet taken office. The procurement service has not yet taken place.

La Nouvelle Expression understands that this attitude of the former governor provokes reactions in public opinion. Some ask "Where is the patriotism clerk for a large state like this?". For others, this attitude reflects a selfish behavior unacceptable at that level of responsibility. The man in question does not care, Jules Marcelin Ndjaga is waiting for the "official handover" service to rest.
