Lebialem CPDM Reshapes Strategies

Technocrats of the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) have metamorphosed from one tactic to another in a bid to attain desired percentages at the September 30 legislative and municipal polls.

Campaigners have gradually moved from grandstands, which hosted official launching ceremonies, through public square sermons to door-to-door dialogues in various homes. Last weekend, a new approach was designed. Campaign caravans would visit social groups across the division, including local assemblies of people from other parts of the nation, particularly from the North West and West regions.

The divisional campaign team leader, His Majesty Senator Fon Fontem Njifua, who is also Questor says group-to-group techniques are more intimate, communal and exerts unchallengeable impacts on the audience. He cautions the CPDM disciples to remain tolerant, harmless and persuasive. "Go for the lost sheep; fish supporters of the PAP and NUDP in the three constituencies with the magic of your tongue, not force," the Senator told his team members.

"Tell them we need to tar Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe road; we need to extend electricity to other parts of the division; we need professional schools and teachers; we need clean water and health facilities to combat sleeping sickness, meningitis and HIV/AIDS which current scotch our populations; tell them that only the CPDM, through the ballot, would provide our needs," the Senator emphasized.
