Kumbo SDF militants acclaimed John Bosco Mbinkar to continue to lead the party, during the Kumbo SDF District Conference on June 2. The Conference, which was heavily attended, took place at the Kumbo Council Chambers.

Moments into the elections, a scene was almost created after the candidature of Kumbo’s former football star, Tav Lailam Edward was not validated. The reactions of the crowd was spontaneous with jeering and shouting. After moments of insistence with the hope of reversing the decision, the Lailam team walked out of the hall before real business started.

John Bosco Mbinkar, the incumbent District Chairman, said the SDF will remain winners in Kumbo. He said in the last elections, the SDF scored a huge victory beating their political opponent by over 8000 votes. He said the SDF needs to be ready and not taken off guard.

The leader of the Reorganization team for the North West Region, Mayor Donatus Fonyuy Njong of Kumbo told militants they have been mandated by Party hierarchy to revamp the SDF in the North West, given that it is the birthday of the party.

He said they had used the exercise to ensure only those, who have been tested and trusted are given positions of responsibility. He noted in some districts they had to dismiss the existing district exco and put in place a caretaker committee with the the mandate to organize district conference for elections to take place.
He said candidatures had also be rejected in some areas, where discipline is said to be wanting.
Hon Joseph Banadzem, Member of Parliament for Bui Centre Constituency lauded party militants for coming out during May 20 and the Party’s 26th-anniversary celebration. He reassured the much-needed change in Cameroon would radiate from Kumbo.

Hon Edna Mbah of Momo East Constituency, member of the reorganization team hailed the SDF militants for being steadfast and loyal to the party.

She advised those whose candidatures were not validated to go into a retreat, think positively about what they presented. She said individual opinions have never been a decision, but the decision comes from the crowd.

Hon Edna said detractors exist everywhere. “They claim that they are not sponsored, but we know they are sponsored,” she added.

She said ahead of the Mbengwi reorganization; there are already detractors. She called on all to respect the constitution of the party. She acknowledged Kumbo as the Lamb bearer of the SDF in the North West Region.
