DO congratulates SDF for bouncing back

The Divisional Officer, DO, for Balikumbat, Martin Ngwa Manjong, has told militants of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, that he is happy that the party is alive again.

Speaking on May 8 at the Balikumbat Development Organisation, BADO, Hall, the DO said he was happy the party has bounced back after the Legislative and Municipal elections of September 30 last year.

“I came to this meeting not only because I signed the authorisation for it to hold, but to ascertain that one of my children is alive and kicking. Your party is second at the Senate, Parliament and comes second when we talk of councils nationwide.

This is an era of democracy and we cannot afford to go back to a one party system, that is why, for so long that I was only seeing the ruling CPDM in the field, I felt that there was something wrong with the SDF. I am, therefore, happy that you are alive and since you have bounced back, let your presence be felt on May 20 celebrations coming up in few weeks.” The DO advised SDF militants not to go into a coma again.

“You slept for too long,” he told them The positive comments from the DO inspired the SDF Regional team to Balikumbat that was led by Gideon Muluh and Mayor Bamenda III, Cletus Fonguh, SDF Organising Secretary, who urged the caretaker team for the planning of May 20 celebrations and reorganisation of 62 SDF wards; Barrister Henry Kemende and Dr. Julius Ngeba, to swing into action for massive mobilisation.

“When we must have witnessed on May 20, that there was massive attendance of militants marching village by village, ward by ward, we will come for the re-organisation of the Balikumbat Electoral District,” the team announced. It would be recalled that after suffering a defeat of not making it as MP for Bilikumbat, the former District Chairman, Dr. Pius Leciga, resigned from the SDF.

The Vice District Chairman, Peter Doh Fonding, who presented a handful of his executive that refused to follow Dr. Leciega, assured the visiting Regional team that they will collaborate with Barrister Kemende’s caretaker committee to win more souls for the party. He promised to reverse the trend of results come 2018. “We had only 33 percent at both Legislative and Municipal elections, while CPDM had 66, it will never happen, come next elections,” Peter Doh intimated.
