CDC GM urges Tiko CPDM to re-commit themselves

The General Manager of the Cameroon Development Corporation, Frankline Ngoni Njie, has implored the militants of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in Tiko to re-commit themselves to the party.

The GM was speaking in Tiko on March 24, as head of the Central Committee Delegation during the 30th anniversary celebration of the party.

The CPDM in Tiko, has witnessed some political hard times in recent. In the 2013 municipal election, the party was ousted from the Council by the SDF. Since the loss of this political battle, the spirits and commitment of some militants of the party have waned.

“When we look at the recent history of our party in Tiko, we have not been successful because of lack of commitment and because the leadership has not been able to live up to the challenges that are there,”Njie observed.

It was based on the above picture that Njie said there was need, especially as the re-organisation of the party is expected soon, to re-commit themselves to the ideals of a party, whose leader, has, for 30 years, ensured that Cameroonians enjoy peace and development.

The GM stated that the celebrations of the 30thanniversary should have been an occasion them to make merry, but given the present circumstances and war against Boko Haram, it was incumbent on them not to go for a binge.

“The sad national context marked by our country’s ongoing war on terrorism calls for a dignified and sober celebration in support of our defense forces and in solidarity with the war victims.”

Njie reminded the militants not to lose sight of the beautiful things the CPDM has achieved for Cameroon since its birth in 1985.

“We must admit that the CPDM has stood the test of time and weathered all the challenges our country has faced. It remains the bedrock of our national unity and our democratic aspiration…,” he stated.

The Section President, Charles Eteki Dikongue, called on militants to take the issue of securing their party cards seriously because, “only militants with valid party cards shall be allowed to vote and be voted during the expected re-organisation.”

Eteki called on the militants to beware of what he called fake party cards that were in circulation. He advised militants to buy their cards only from party officials duly designated by the party.

The YCPDM President, Celestin Lipatcha, said the main drive of the re-organisation shall be for them to put in place astute and committed leaders who will have to re-galvanise the militants to reclaim the Tiko Council from the SDF in the 2018 elections.

Sally Lyonga, on behalf of WCPDM urged the militants to be responsible because at 30, the CPDM needs to be a party of people who are tough, honest, responsible and talented.
