Charlotte in WonderLand? The story of the young woman born in Yaoundé could almost be a fairytale because it has been a meteoric rise, sign of a natural talent which is fully grown today.

The young Cameroonian began as a studio and scene chorister. She was with the greatest, such as Manu DIBANGO or Rokia TRAORE before joining the Hundred Voices Gospel choral and being produce in the France’s zeniths with famous artists like Axelle RED.

In 2009, she gave her career a decisive turn by devoting herself to a solo adventure. A few months later, Charlotte DIPANDA gave birth to her first child nammed Mispa. This first album was recorded in Paris with Guy N'SANGUE, THE reference of the Cameroonian's bassists. Perfectly fulfilling his job as a director, he managed to understand the acoustic universe that the young woman is fond of and gave a beautiful coherence to the project, sometimes inclining towards the makossa side, from afrobeat to Cap-Vert.

With this project, she criss-crossed France and was propelled to stardom in Cameroun, her homeland where her concerts are always sold-out. She continues to work with artists of the continent who see in her one of the worthy representative of the African divas. Her road then crosses with one of a "big brother", a Cameroonian, exceptional bassist and glorified singer. Richard BONA took her under his wing and does her the honor of opening every of his shows.

At the same time, Charlotte keeps close her new musical creations. After more than 200 concerts, it's time for her to offer her audience a second album. Stick with a winning combination! Guy NSANGUE is again part of the adventure! The album is ready to be launch on the record market. We can find the same sobriety than on Mispa with something more, maturity. This record is full of feelings that make us travel through melodies, a relevant mix of tradition, jazz and acoustic with Douala, Bakaka and French lyrics.

In the course of a track, we have the nice surprise to find Richard BONA again in a duet, as well as Jacob DESVARIEUX, the famous Kassav singer. If we look closely at the album sleeve, we have the joy to discover another collaboration, the one of Lokua KANZA who wrote the song Kumb’élolo. The ordeal of the 2nd album is often a dangerous one but Charlotte DIPANDA capitalizes it!

Dube L’am tells great stories. Dube L’am, which means “my faith”, reflects Charlotte’s convictions and everything in which she believes in. The naivety that makes her sees the best in everyone.

We, the public can consider ourselves favored… We will be able to tell our grandchildren how we experienced the rise of great lady of African music!
