Education diplomas will be awarded in May to 45 Cameroonian teachers.

The second edition of the "Day of Kung Fu" was celebrated on May 23 in Yaounde, under the Cameroon Federation of kung fu Wushu and related disciplines (Fecakuwuda), the Association for the Promotion of the practice of Chinese martial arts (Asppamc) and the Confucius Institute of the University of Yaounde II Soa.

The objective of this day was among others to encourage people to practice kung fu and detect young talents. This event marked the end of the apprenticeship program of the Chinese language and kung fu in some schools in the capital.

For the occasion, 45 Cameroonian masters of this Chinese martial art, trained for nine months by Mr. Zhao Yang, 6th dan black belt from the School of Chinese boxers of the Confucius Institute, received their diplomas at the end of training.

According to Mr. Fabrice Erisian Mba, President of Asppamc, kung fu is a serious project that is part of the fight against unemployment, insecurity, idleness of young people and the strengthening of social and human values.

Finally, the Confucius Institute has offered 10 scholarships to members and many Asppamc who have mastered kung fu. The association provides, in addition, to set up competitions and a demonstration tour in self-defense techniques in the instruction of some army corps centers.
