YOSA given second chance at home

Yong Sport Academy will have another opportunity in a week’s time to prove to its diehard fans at the dusty Bamenda Municipal Stadium that their lackluster performance against newly promoted Lion Blesse of Fotouni is a thing of the past, after they disappointed fans going down by 0-1 last Sunday.

Some fans have expressed their disappointment in the team’s style of play, recruitment policies and management.

Players like Eric Joël Ntieche one of the key players for last season has left the club for Cotton Sport of Garoua while some of the old players are yet to resume training and some of the new players are not well known.

But to other fans like Nji Gerald, it’s still early days and the team should be given time to bond following the coming in of new players and a difficult 2014 football season.

The team takes on the experience Astres FC of Douala next Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Bamenda Municipal Stadium in a match counting for the 2nd day of play.

Astres FC on its part recorded a one-nil victory on day one over USM of loum in Douala.

Last season, Yosa played to a one all tie in the away match on April 23 in Bamenda and lost by 3-1 in the return leg in Douala last October. Head to head record between both teams gives Astres an upper hand with four victories as against two for Yosa and four draws.

Yosa’s home form against Astres has not been as impressive too, with only two victories in five matches, two draws and a defeat. Yosa’s only two victories against Astres in 10 outings in top flight football come in 2009 and 2013.

Yosa ended the 2014 campaign at 12 position on 45 points, 12 points and 6 places behind Astres FC that barely missed out on a continental ticket.

Coming back to the first day of play, Five victories, three draws and sixteen goals were recorded with Bamboutos of Mbouda shooting straight to the top after an impressive 4-1 victory over Njalla Quan Sport Academy at the MTN Municipal Arena in Mbouda.

Coton Sport picked up from where the ended last victory with a victory at Cosmos in Bafia. For the full results of the first day.
