It has been long since football fans witnessed a thrilling end to the season.

Everybody saw the champion of Cameroon, Coton Sport, re-enlist for a third consecutive title without worry.

Moreover, the players of Coach Didier Gomes da Rosa seemed to have done the hard part by counting 11 points ahead of their pursuers after ten days of play in Ligue 1.

But now, the Garoua team is stuck, allowing themselves up the standings. During the 32nd day of play on Sunday in Douala, the Coton recorded a defeat against New Stars, their fifth defeat of the season and the third in four games against New Stars (2-1).

So, with 58 points, they have only one point ahead of Union de Douala, who did not benefit in their encounter against YOSA (0-0) in Bamenda Behind them are New Stars and Botafogo (56 points each) that can still claim the title with a remaining two days of play in the championship.

At the bottom of ranking, Njalla Quan precisely can stay in League 1, yet they would have a particularly favorable combination of circumstances. The Limbe Club, beaten by Dragon on the 32nd day, already has one foot in Ligue 2, alongside Tonnerre. If her victory over Bamboutos (2-1) doesn’t go down well, Cosmos remains under the threat of relegation.

Lion Blesse, Fovu, UMS and Canon are more likely to go down just like the Bafia team. The 33rd day scheduled on Wednesday, looks more than ever crucial. The season will play down to the final seconds.
