Dragon FC sink Canon

Leke Yves Robert’s superb finish at the 70th minutes gave Dragon FC a victory at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium sinking Canon FC before their home supporters.

Dragon FC tightened their grip upward in the top three while inflicting damage on Canon’s aspirations of leaving the red zone with a convincing 1-0 win at the Ahmadou Ahidjo’s Stadium on Saturday, April 4, 2015.

A re-bounce from a poor defense of Canon made goalkeeper Sylvain Abogo helpless at the goal post as he watched the ball idle in for another 4th consecutive defeat in a row.

After a goalless first half, Dragon scored a goal as Canon of Yaounde squandered so many chances of taking the lead despite their dominance.

Fans were disappointed and supporters speechless as they left the stadium with heavy hearts not knowing what is happening to their team that was once a force to reckon with in the early 90s and 2000.

Sacking Coach Pagou David who had only registered five draws and three defeats in 8 games and bringing in Dieudonne Nke was considered as a step towards change but his first defeat with the team this Saturday left the people devastated with what has become of the legendary “Kpa-Kum”.

Despite his first defeat, Coach Nke Dieudonne remains optimistic even though their next match is against Coton Sport of Garoua, “this is my first outing with the team and I believe that things are going to change.

The defeat to me is just a transition and as you saw in the field, the team played so well. Playing against Cotonsport in our next match will be an occasion to take three points home”.

To the players, their poor show is as a result of no match bonuses as well as lack of training bonuses and boots. They even claim that they have not received a single franc after the 8th day of play.

The supporters on their part think the administration is the one causing the disorder that has reduced the team to remain a shadow of itself.

Canon of Yaounde that is still unable to win a match after 9 games and welcomes Cotonsport on Wednesday April 8, 2015 in a highly contested game counting for the 10th day of play in the Cameroon Professional Football Championship.

The match between Tonnere Football Club of Yaounde and Apejes of Mfou in Yaounde could not continue due to rain even though Apejes Sport Academy was already on the lead at the 14minutes before the match was stopped.

The match was re-program at the CAF Training Center in Mbangkomo Sunday 5th 2015.
