Aigle Royal of Menoua: Samuel Dongmo achieves his dream

Aigle Royal of Menoua just made its comeback in the top flight of Cameroonian football.

It was a return celebrated with great pomp in the department of Menoua. But to achieve this, it took courage, temerity and audacity not only by the players, but especially a man named Samuel Dongmo.

Early in the season, a transitional coordination committee was set up to manage an ‘orphaned’ team after Wamba Ngankou left. “But I can assure you that during those 10 days of play in the championship, they did not see it fit to join me so that together, we reach this goal,” Samuel Dongmo stated in an interview with camfoot.com.

Back to square one, he took things into his own hands to prevent the team, created in 1933, from going further into the abyss. With the help of some supporters and some benefactors, the tax inspector, now president kept the candle burning.

Premiums of matches and salaries were paid regularly. The team usually came victorious after matches. However, the team’s ambition of gaining promotion into League 1 was a challenge for him.

Because "it was also necessary to show those who think they are demigods of Menoua that we can do without them," he said. After the season, he can legitimately say he is happy.

This was because he fulfilled the objective of the club against all odds. And Aigle Royal of Menoua (63 points) had the second position behind the first place ,Racing of Bafoussam, (64 points) in the final minute of the final day of the championship.
