The Egyptian national handball team recorded their third win in a row as they beat Cameroon 30-20 to boost their chances of qualifying to the next round of the 2016 African Handball Cup of Nations.

The Egyptians started the game as they did with every game this tournament, with clear attacking intent as they raced to a 5-2 lead early on.

Cameroon had lost narrowly to Morocco previously and they were keen to keep in touch with the impressive Egyptians. However, brilliant goals from Mohamed Hesham and Ali Zain kept the Egyptians rampant towards the end of the half.

Both teams had their moments toward the end of the half, however, the Egyptians again finished the half very strongly with six consecutive goals to end the interval with the score 17-10.

The Egyptians started the second half with the beginning goal as they have for the last two games with Mohamed Ibrahim taking is opportunity well.

Arguably the player of the second half Hashem was really starting to blow Cameroon away with numerous goals as the Egyptians started to run away with it and Cameroon had no answers.

Although there was a late surge late on from the hurt Cameroon side, Egypt were able to record their third win in what has been an impressive tournament so far.

Egypt now lead Group A after winning 100% of their games. Morocco lost to Algeria and have now lost second place to their North African rivals on goal difference. Whilst Egypt’s opponents today, Cameroon, are the last of the second placed teams as they have worse goal differences than both Algeria and Morocco.
