Handball: Cameroon's opponents drawn

Handball Handball

The Confederation of African Handball recently conducted the draw for the African Games which Cameroon qualified in both the women and men categories.

The handball players qualified after three tournaments played in DRC in March. As Bronze medalists in Maputo, the Cameroonian teams have much to do during the games against Senegal and Mali, two nations who are exceptional in this discipline.

Honoré Konguep, a player of the Lionesses handball team, said training will come up in the coming weeks for the team to be well prepared because the Federation expects funds from the state to set in soon.

For this reason, the players were challenged to keep pace with the national championship which took place over the weekend.

This was a similar situation with the men who were able to qualify at DRC even though there was little training. It was an infuriating situation for the national Lions and Lionesses Handball team.

"If today the SSA countries do not shine, it is because they have no competition. You need to participate a lot in competitions to gain more experience," said Honoré Konguep.

The selected players were able to participate in the first global handball game that was held in Kosovo with Cameroon reaching the quarterfinal in June.
