Cameroon international Clinton N’Jie will not have a chance to fight for his place at Tottenham Hotspur this coming season, as the English Premier League outfit prepare to loan him out to Marseille in France.

The versatile 22-year-old is able to contribute in attack or on the wing, but this was not evident during the past campaign, due to a knee injury that side-lined him for most of the season.

N’Jie only managed to feature in eight games for the North London club during 2015-16, and was hoping to prove himself at Spurs, but a loan move to France is almost inevitable as the English club are on the verge of signing Georges-Kévin Nkoudou for around £11 million.

The France under-21 winger will soon join Tottenham from Marseille, with N’Jie making a temporary switch to the Ligue 1 side. Marseille will be given an option to make the Cameroonian’s move permanent at the end of the season.

N’Jie signed for Tottenham from Lyon last term, with the talented youngster agreeing to a five-year deal at the club.

He will need to prove his worth in France to regain the confidence of his employers in the English top flight, and replicate his fairly prolific international form, with six goals in 15 appearances for the Indomitable Lions during the last few years
