Valentine gift for facebook friends

This Friday, the 14th of January is “Lovers' Day”, popularly known as “Valentine`s Day”, or St. Valentine`s Day” or “Fest of St. Valentine”.

As we know, on this day each year, different people remember their loved ones and extend gestures of love to them. These could be in the form of gifts, letters, postcards or hugs, kisses or other physical gestures, or even mere loving, kind and caring words.

I am offering you my Facebook friends an individual poem to celebrate the event. I will write the poem for you and on you. If you would like such a poem, I ask you for only a short phrase (preferably of not more than ten words) that says anything you want it to say.

I will then use it as the first line of the first stanza of the poem and write the rest of the poem for you. Once it`s written, I`ll dedicate it to you and post it here on Facebook.

If you wish, you can include one, or more or all of the following additional details. It`s up to you. But if you don`t, I`ll still write your poem based on only the short phrase. The optional details are: first name, family name, day of birth, month of birth, place of birth, astrological sign (if you know it), your favourite colour, your favourite word, the colour you hate most, the word you hate most.

Remember that your phrase could say anything you want it to say. It could be a statement, a question, a regret, an exclamation, a quotation, a piece of advice, a doubt, a certainty, a disappointment, a satisfaction; in fact, just anything.

Post it here on Facebook and indicate that it`s for the poem and I`ll pick it up. However, since I have some 5,000 (five thousand) friends on Facebook, I may start with the first ten I receive to begin with. Perhaps at some point in the future, I can publish them in a forthcoming book of mine on poems at no cost to you.

If it comes to that I will seek the opinion of individual contributors so that we lay down terms that are fair.

LANGUAGE: Your short phrase can be in English or French. If it`s in English, I`ll write the poem in English. If it`s in French, I`ll write it in French.

Happy Valentine`s!
