Letter From Buea To Yaounde

Dear Mbella,

I didn’t care much about the long communication comatose that has put us asunder for quite a while now. I know you are still basking in the Epicurean show of the old New Year. What is obvious is that the New Year started with old habits. Your man still quibbled and avoided addressing the issues at stake.

The usual end-of-year ritualistic bid was a loud sounding rhetoric. It was an un-communicating outing that made modesty its greatest victim. Instead of somewhat reading into the minds of the masses, trapped in deprivation and want, he rather hurled a bombastic monologue at the airwaves. Stately commonsense here succumbed to the theatrical populism of the “C awarara.” It was, as usual, a despotic show off with the kadiye ramming down his fallacious views ex-cathedra, as if he were still a 15th century monarch.

Mola, I did not want to say anything much about the conflict triggered by the Labour Party Kussa. The Scribe and the boy reportedly lined their pockets in a shady pecuniary deal that rocked the boat. Let me warn you that I will not be part of your akwara behaviour wherein you give credit where it is not due.

What threw me into a quandary is the euphoric manner in which you have been celebrating anti-heroes in this triangle. Such power prostitutes are so accursed with vices of compromise and opportunism that they have emerged only as murderers of our national dreams. Now I tell you, my brother, to watch out for the theatre of the absurd: a blow-out between the Lord and the Scribe.

It promises to be a noisy divorce ceremony characterised by the spilling of the beans. Despite this brouhaha, the Czar should not lose his emotional equipoise. He should rather remain calm and collective in the face of such hostilities. On the other hand, he should be exemplary by rendering an account as to how the kussa from the public wallet has been used for over the years.

I hear quaffers are angry about the increase in prices. If that were to be the only situation, I will not care a damn. What irks me is that education and health are priced out of the reach of the poor and the needy. In the same vein, bills flow more than water and electricity. Mbella, I sincerely think that the big man did not say much on matters of grave national import.

If things were taken seriously in this triangle, fraudsters would not soar to the pedestal of State heroism with such ease. Little wonder that the conman shamelessly went to equity with dirty hands. By the way, I am yet to recover from his scandalous nomination by a coterie of self-seeking god fathers.

Meanwhile, those who do not have god fathers can go to hell. That is why the Southwest Regional Chief of Control Services has been sanctioned by the god fathers of land-grabbing administrators. Her salary has been suspended for almost half a year. Let her chaff. Why did she try to police the administrators?

The appointment of that intellectual midget cum academic nano, was a sacrilege of the most primitive kind. And the results are very clear for everyone to see. Anyone who keeps doing the same thing for decades and expects to have different results should be made a permanent inmate of the Centre Jamot Hospital.

A wife, who is acquired from the dancing floor, will one day flee at the throb of the drum. So, the nano should normally go back to sing-sing; that is the world to which he rightly belongs. He is one of the worse cases of our whimsical and precarious selection by morally bankrupt oafs of god fathers. No matter how long it takes, the man will go back to his own world in sing-sing.

Saul is a political fox who ensures all the time that the smile comes before the smack. Yet, he was a little too indifferent, nay, callous when the senatorial scribe crumbled in his own very eyes like a pack of cards.

Are you surprised that those people of double-talk and double-speak backed the controversial law? Those patrons of cosmetic democracy did not care about the suppression of fundamental liberties in that barbaric law. Their approval represents a charade of deceit and a show of double fidelity.

This is shocking because it is the ordinary citizen who is going to bear the brunt of that executive delinquency. I tell you to quote me even to the witch-hunters of the Central Committee! With such an attitude, we will not emerge even after 2000 years, because, it has been garbage-in garbage-out.

My regards to Enangs and the kids,

Yours sincerely Ngwa
