The extraordinary start to the season for Idris Carlos Kameni has brought him under the spotlight.
At the time the national team of Cameroon is brooding with its goalkeepers, they are likely to see the 31-year-old keeper back in the Lions’ den. In an interview with our colleagues of Jeune Afrique, there is also no mystery surrounding his deep thoughts.
"If they call me, I will come. I attach great importance to the Indomitable Lions. Only, the coach makes his choices. When I was called, I did not wonder why the others were not there. If he thinks that I do not deserve to play, then he has his reasons.
He came to watch a friendly match in Malaga this summer, and he said he would come and see me this season. I accepted the situation cooly. I played from 2000-2014 with the selection and I am of course ready to return."
