I take the defence of Professor Gervais Mendo Ze

"While his arrest is already proof of his guilt and the public clamor seems to devote it to the obloquy, people of Cameroon, people quick to judge, to decide what is truth, what is lies, what is manipulations, it is to you that I wish to address so together we can let the time of justice continue its long and tedious race to infinity of our common country."

My Word is not only to defend, but also to give my point of view, to instruct to load or discharge. I am against all and all are against me, that is why, precisely, I am taking the floor. I refuse this atmosphere of killing, this burning smell; When the people ask to see Government in its service, should not be used for blood and human flesh, because we ceased to be cannibals for a long time now.

This public opinion here is not that of men, it is not human, it is a prostitute who pulls on the noose, and we must stop, because if she carries on, it is justice which is killed.

Public opinion is not there as justice, it is there to protect the widow and the orphan to ensure respect for the law, it calls, attracts vigilance; its role is not to sow terror among fellow.

Professor Gervais Mendo Ze is entitled to the presumption of innocence so precisely that justice remains blind as its motto.

Cameroonian public opinion should call for a fair trial, they must request this citizen to be tried and that his trial is not in the regime he served, we are all witnesses.

Public opinion can have an antipathy towards the Professor Gervais Mendo Ze, but does not build his dishonor, it may have disgust for his commitment in the CPDM, marking his astonishment or even his hatred, it can experience the horror about the plan of renewal, but must not at any point lose reason. Professor Gervais Mendo Ze is not the regime, he served him certainly by Decree, by appointment, and this is where the difference is.

Should Cameroonian citizens give up to serve their country for fear to be put to death one day by the public clamor? If so then who should serve our country? Yes, I am his defence! The great clamor, condemning the Professor Gervais Mendo Ze proclaimed, invented a crime as it did with the philosopher Martin Heidegger to the darkest hour in the history of humanity.

Should we continue to deliver in the almost exclusive form of science that we have acquired? Should we continue to seek more effectively usable and realizable results for our society? If Yes, there is need of an era where politics is the economic management of power which is accordingly not guarantors, but administrators and other AIDS specific to its budgeting? Yes, I take the defence of Professor Gervais Mendo Ze!

I believe in Justice, that cannot be degraded by some epithet, that punishes with severity and is point exploited nor indoors or outdoors, I believe in righteousness which builds peace and that away from us and as far as possible the spectre of death and infamy, the death given as it emerges from us is an admission of powerlessness.

Blood washes with tears of reconciliation, not blood. Wanting to by popular pressure kill Gervais Mendo Ze, denying magistrates do their job, we yield to anger, a terrible anger, we give in to fear, hate and panic.

These words that I speak now, I May only reason with them when am defending them before the Supreme Court of our country. I do not want to surprise your hearts, but to train your consciences. The beautiful shots of the sword are not against the wind. I do this with certainty. Our country must remain standing. Its construction is slow and twisty, many obstacles! Look together towards the future and not enclose in the future. Public opinion, yours represents the future and this future where there is intelligent, it is spirit of justice and not a filthy passion, a clamor.

It's hot, very hot in our streets and in our homes since the launch of the Operation Hawk which in the end have not improved the daily lives of our millions of citizens. That is why I am angry with the way of going about with this justice which sees nothing, hears nothing, and takes us to intruders. This justice which spit on our intelligence, our future, which gives us against each other, which passes alongside the right, Yes, I take the defence of Professor Gervais Mendo Ze.

When the time comes to justice, which is not prison time, because the Cameroonian prison corrupts those who were not corrupt, nor heal those who were? So when the time comes to justice, I believe that Professor Gervais Mendo Ze will assume, that he will say no to the charge. That he will not suffer the trials of a scheme under which we all lived and that a category has been used without losing its quality of Cameroonian citizen.

Then, great popular clamor, I ask you to acquit of Professor Gervais Mendo Ze. Do this trial, a trial atoning and conjuratoire, a collective psychoanalysis to free us of a kind of shame.
