France-Cameroon Political War: President Biya 2: France 0

Despite French government diplomatic efforts and pleadings, a Biya tele guided court has today in Cameroon dished out a 20 years prison term to French Barrister Lydienne Yen-Eyoum. The CPDM Judge said Barrister Lydienne Yen-Eyoum is guilty of embezzling 1.5 million euros from the Cameroon government.

The French advocate arrested since the 8th of January 2010 was only sentenced today for what her French lawyer Caroline Wassermann described as "lame and ridiculous reasons". President Biya created a special anti corruption court in December 2012 to handle all matters pertaining to corruption.

However, the court has only succeeded in jailing Cameroon government cabinet ministers who attempted to unseat President Biya including a former Prime Minister. The case of Barrister Lydienne Yen-Eyoum is a continuation of the Biya policy of silencing any French sponsored rebellion against him in the country.

An aide to President Biya who is currently in the Republic of South Africa for medical reasons told Cameroon Concord that so long as Biya continues to enjoy the support of the Cameroon military, all French attempts at ousting him will fail. Said our source: "Biya has prevailed over Boko Haram and the Central Africa Republic rebels.

Biya has jailed the French chosen successor Minister Marafa Hamidou Yaya and all his acolytes. So our president is winning this fight against the French".
