Cameroon operates a CPDM style of Christianity and Islam

Is there still an honest politician, professional or businessman in Cameroon?

Can a politician,a civil servant or businessman practice his profession or do business without stepping on God or Allah's toes? Is it possible in Cameroon not to give or receive bribes or other forms of inducement and still perform your duty to the nation successfully and get to Heaven?

These are the pertinent questions one of Cameroon Concord's Desk Editor has been attempting to find answers as President Paul Biya prepares to celebrate his 32 years as Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Cameroon this coming November 6th.

For a full appreciation of the importance of this herculean task, we of this publication need to identify areas of general consensus on the significance of Christians and Muslims involvement in professional, business and intellectual sectors of Cameroon.

Jesus Christ himself declared that: "I pray thee not to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one". John 17:15. Two truths can be deduced from what the Prince of Peace said. Firstly, that religious persons have to be in the world to fulfill a purpose. They should not be taken out of the world simply because of the presence of evil.Secondly,God is always there guiding and protecting the righteous from the evil one.

Christianity or Islam does not remove you from the world and its problems. Rather, it makes you fit to live in the world triumphantly and usefully. If you cannot be a christian in Cameroon which is the most corrupt country in the world, then you cannot be a Christian anywhere. It is only when is dark, then can we see the stars.

The relevance of Christians and Muslims in Cameroon's social, economic and political development is something on which there is virtually a unanimous agreement. God in his infinite image created and planted both Christians and Muslims in Cameroon to make our nation better. However, both the Christian and Muslim communities have propounded their own version of Christianity and Islam-this is the CPDM style of Christianity and Islam.

The most corrupt customs and taxation officers are Parish Council Chairpersons in nearly all the Roman Catholic and Protestant parishes in the country. This is true also of the Muslim community. Many important issues in the church calender are regularly being postpone for lame and ridiculous reasons that the spiritual leader had to officiate over a CPDM or political event in his area of jurisdiction.

The State no longer respects the church because senior spiritual leaders like the Imam of Yaounde and the former Arch Bishop of Yaounde His Lordship Victor Tonye Bakot are all involve in petroleum deals. Whereas in Italy, the Roman Catholic Church had long banned Silvio Berlusconi from receiving Holy Communion.

A vicious blood tasty leader like Paul Biya continues to enjoy the body and blood of the Prince of Peace during Eucharistic celebrations. The Presbyterian and the Muslim churches are slowing but surely disappearing from the rural areas because no Pastor or Imam wants to reside where followers do not have money to sustain him.

The Roman Catholic Arch Diocese of Yaounde is now a Beti-Ewondo private preserve. The Bishops of Cameroon no longer speak of gross human right violations in the country. This is because President Biya gives them a token every end of year.Nothing can best represent the collapse of a nation than the fact that even the religious community has lost its integrity.

Correspondingly, both the church and the CPDM government turn to blame the media because we tell them to be what they say they are. Does it not worry you as a Christian or a Muslim to see Rosicrucians who constitute the CPDM government to be celebrating Holy Masses in the same church with you?

Does it not worry you when you share from the same chalice with a man you are aware is involve in gay practices just for political power? Let the real Cameroonian Christians and Muslims stand up and be counted. You cannot afford to leave the stage for ungodly to mess Cameroon up.

The great Cardinal Tumi and Retired Bishop Francis Lysinge have thought the Cameroonian people that as true children of God, we have the capacity to do something to affect our community, place of work or business. The Biya must go slogan has to change from poetry to action.
