Cameroon in 2015: The Politicians

With the Biya Emergency Development Plan, Cameroonians particularly those back at home will be hoping that the economy will take a great leap forward for business and for politics as well. Any Cameroonian hoping for economic prosperity in 2015 will be very disappointed.

In Yaoundé the nation’s capital, the political division between the Grand Nord and Grand South will widen and many Betis, Bulus and Etons with Mendo Ze and the late Mendouga sympathy will join forces with the majority Nordist group.

There will be an all out war within the ruling CPDM party as President Biya’s health problems will be more visible as age continue to tell on him.

Prime Minister Yang Philemon, Ministers Jacques Fame Ndongo, Henri Eyebe Ayissi and Issa Tchiroma will all be sacked by a Chantal Biya led operation. President Biya will grant political amnesty to Chief Inoni Ephraim, Odong Ndong, Atangana Mebara and Marafa. Chief Tabetando and Chief Peter Agbor Tabi will fail in their bid to get a Manyu Prime Minister. Militants of the Social Democratic Front will push for Joseph Mbah Ndam to take over the Chairmanship of the party.

The SCNC leadership and the appointment of Justice Ayah Paul to the Supreme Court will reignite the North West / South West divide ranting. There will be a major shift in power in many constituencies in the country and there will be also a more productive and intensive generation change that will come about through death or paralytic stroke.

There will be attempts by the Lekie group to oust Cavaye Djibril from the political scene. Prominent Anglophone CPDM barons will start having discussing on the confuse state of issues in Yaounde. The House of Senate will record many more deaths.

The Boko Haram insurgence will change the security calculations of Cameroon bringing too many Anglophones and Bamilikes into the main stream secret service. Hepatitis B will kill more than Hiv/aids. However, there will be plenty to celebrate as Cameroon will win the Africa Cup of Nations in Malabo.

These are all Cameroon Concord predictions many of which may actually prove right. A Merry Christmas to all of our readers and a wonderful and prosperous New Year.
