A leader waits for his season

Are you a leader? Then never forget that a leader is someone who is prepared to wait for his season. A leader knows that the blessings he desires will not come overnight. He is prepared to stay at it until the breakthrough and promotion arrive. If you cannot wait for your God-given promotion, you are not a leader. I have had to wait many years for many things.

'And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.' Psalm 1:3

How a Leader Waits for His Season A leader goes beyond his emotions while he waits. 'And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat. Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? And why eatest thou not? And why is thy heart grieved? Am not I better to thee than ten sons?' 1 Samuel 1:7-8

Hannah was an emotional person. You can see in the Scriptures that she wept and cried like any other woman. She had feelings and emotional problems. But she went beyond her emotions and became a spiritual person. In fact, she became more spiritual after her problem. Through your problems, you will get to know God better. Indeed, all things will work out for your good. There is a breakthrough waiting for you so go beyond your emotions and become a spiritual person.

A leader makes a vow while he waits. 'And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.' 1 Samuel 1:11

Hannah was a woman with direction. She went a step further than many others would. She made a promise to God. If He were to give her a child she would give him back to the Lord. She promised to give away what was most precious to her, even before he was born.

Perhaps God is waiting for you to make such a promise to Him. Are you a leader? Can you make a vow and keep it?

A leader keeps his vows while he waits. Hannah kept her vow. She gave unto the Lord and the Lord gave back to her. Is money a problem to you? Do you find it difficult to give to Jesus? Lose that money and let it go now! Become a 'tither' and a giver of offerings.

'But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the Lord, and there abide forever. And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the Lord establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him. And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh: and the child was young. And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli. And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the Lord. For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.' 1 Samuel 1:22-28 Many people have a problem with money. There are many blessings that are released when you pay your vows. Do you know that when Abraham gave tithes to the Lord the blessing he received was a child? The Bible teaches us that Abraham was very rich. He didn't need any more money. God knows what you need. As you give to Him, God will give you what you need. Principles are things that happen whether you want them to or not. There is a principle about giving. The more you give the more you receive.

'Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.' Luke 6:38

Hannah gave one son to the Lord – the principle worked! God gave her five more children in return. Everything has a season. Dear leader, wait for your season and you will be blessed.
