X-Maleya to stage concerts in Cmr, Europe, USA

The Cameroon Music trio, X-Maleya, has announced several impending international music tour to London, Belgium, USA, Yaounde and Douala, after a successful first international concert at Olympia in Paris, France, on September 14.

The African dance hall music group made this public on September 22, in an interview with this reporter, at the Nsimalen International Airport in the nation’s capital, Yaounde, shortly after they returned from Paris on board a Camair-Co airline plane.

They are second from Cameroon to perform this year at the prestigious French hall, Olympia, after Manu Dibango in March 2014.

The trio is made up of Hais, Roger Samnig and Auguste Rim. They said their Paris debut was absolutely successful and was just the beginning of a series of live concerts they will be staging across the globe in the months ahead. The trio kept the audience spellbound while performing a musical package consisting of Makossa, Pop and Hip-hop music.

“It was a success because the public was satisfied. We want to do the same concert here in Yaounde and Douala with the whole team.

We also have a concert in London on November 22. We are going to work on it,” said Hais “It will be exactly the same concert with same guests here at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde and in Douala. We also have other concerts in Belgium and the USA,” added Roger Samnig.

The popular African music group blends the popular Makossa genre with other local rhythms in Cameroon to sing African dance hall music. X-Maleya counts four albums in the market namely; “Exil” (2006), “X Maleya” (2009), “Tous Ensemble” (2011) and “Resolution” (2013) which includes hit songs featuring other African Celebrities like J. Martins and Chidinma from Nigeria.
