Cameroon braces up for cultural festival in Abidjan

MASA 2016 MASA 2016

One Cameroonian musical group, two folklore groups and one theatre troupe have been selected to represent Cameroon at the ninth edition of the Market for African Performing Arts (MASA 2016) to take place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire from 26th March to 2nd April 2016.

The event is an African festival of arts and craft, a cultural rendezvous to showcase the artistic potentials of the African continent.

This 9th edition of the festival has as theme, “Reinventing the Performing Arts”.

The carnival will therefore serve as an opportunity for Cameroon to showcase its culture and artistic riches.

Amongst those who will be present at the cultural event are renowned Cameroonian artists like Macase, Krotal, Sultan Hoshiminh, Sanzy Viany and Danielle Eog, amongst others.

Preparations for MASA 2016 are heating up at a time when the Cameroon music industry is working hard to overcome some organisational challenges.
