Yannick Noah continues to defend his ‘friend’, Dieudonné despite claims that he had distanced himself from him for four months after the controversy surrounding his Le mur spectacle.

As an invited guest at the new issue of l’ Alessandra Sublet Un at the Eiffel Tower, he was disappointed that the projection was not censored.

However, Yannick Noah did not reveal certain issues about Dieudonné but the former tennis player lamented: “People have concluded that it is not funny even though it is censored”.

He also regretted the prohibition of Dieudonné’s show which was described as anti-Semitism in January: "Why the ban? What right do they have? Why ban as compared to another?” asked Yannick Noah on France 2.

Yannick Noah stated that he was pretty close to Dieudonné for years. "I know his children, his apartment in Cameroon is not far from mine”, he disclosed to JDD last June before publicizing the ‘lâchait’, explaining that ‘division and stigmatization’ was not the best way to go".

A few days later Dieudonné in a video posted on the internet said, "Yes Yannick Noah is my friend. While promoting his album everyone demanded that he justifies his association with me because there was a picture of us circulating on the internet. So Yannick, I am sorry if you have had problems because of me to make earnings out of your album. I will purchase one".
